The Zimbabwe Revolutionary and Patriotic Youth Network (ZRPAYON) has given Harare City Council 72 hours ultimatum to provide better service delivery to the residents and ratepayers.

In a letter addressed to Harare Mayor Clr Herbert Gomba, (ZRPYON) demanded that the Council should prioritise service delivery as it does to its councillors.

“As the City of Harare, you should consider that you and your councillors haven’t skipped a month without salaries and are up to date including on giving yourselves perks including airtime and other allowances. We wonder why you are not up to date on the collection of refuse and provision of clean tap water,” a part of the statement read.

The youth organization added: “We have since concluded that you seem to be the only important people whom the City Council values more and because of that we’re giving you 72 hours to update service delivery, especially regarding the collection of refuse and provision clean tap water, just as you’re up to date with your salaries and we’re declaring all councillors’ residents as dumpsites if you don’t comply with this ultimatum,” said ZRAPAYON.

The letter was delivered and signed at the Chamber Secreaty’s department on the 28th of May 2020.
