The late Soul Jah Love

One of the Zimdancehall and award-winning musicians, Soul Muzavazi Musaka who was popularly known with the stage name ‘Soul Jah Love’ has been declared a liberation hero.

His hero status was confirmed Thursday afternoon by the Zanu PF Secretary for Administration Dr. Obert Mpofu.

Communicating the development in a statement, Dr. Mpofu said, “His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has conferred a Liberation Hero status to the late Cde Soul Muzavazi Musaka who passed away on February 16 at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital.”

He said the family can be contacted through the Harare Provincial Office.

“I shall be most grateful if you would make the usual arrangements for his burial and payment of benefits to his family. He is from Harare Province,” the statement further reads.

The late young talented chanter’s music was enjoyed by many especially the ‘ghetto youths.’

Soul Jah Love’s most popular tracks that hit the music industry with a bang include ‘Dai Hupenyu Hwaitengwa’, ‘Kana Ndafa,’ and ‘Pamamonya Ipapo’ among other popular songs.

Soul Jah Love died on Tuesday at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Harare following a short illness.

His burial is set for Saturday at Warren Hills Cemetry at 11 am. The late musician’s fans, friends, and relatives will pay their last tributes to the musician as his body will lie in state at his home in Msasa Park tomorrow.
