M-Net Movies Presents 007 James Bond Pop-up Channel

007 James Bond Pop-Up Channel

James Bond fans can never get enough of 007, so DStv’s January bonus of a Bond pop-up channel will be welcome news.

After to the massive success of last year’s M-Net Movies James Bond pop-up channel, and with the 25thfilm in the official 007 franchise due for release in April, M-Net is once again casting a TV spotlight on the debonair MI5 agent.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said feedback from last year’s pop-up channel, featuring all 24 of the official Bond films, was hugely positive and calls were made for more of the same.

“This time the thrilling pop-up channel will be open not only to DStv Premium customers but also to DStv Compact Plus and Compact customers, a first for this concept,” she said.

“The channel will run from 10am on Friday January 22  to Sunday January 31.”

The marathon will feature five stars who have played 007 role, including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.  The showcase will feature every 007 film made in the highly popular official film franchise, but not the unofficial ones that are known by fan as ‘the rogue Bonds.’

The 24 films will be screened chronologically, starting with the first in the series, 1962’s Dr No  and moving right up to the latest, 2015’s Spectre. Bond 25, No Time To Die, was scheduled for theatrical release late last year but has been pushed into 2021 because of Covid-related cinema closures worldwide.

“Viewers can watch the M-Net James Bond 007 pop-up channel from any device at any time. All the films that will be screened as part of the pop-up channel will also be available on DStv Catch Up until Sunday February 28,” said Ms Dziva.
