Davitah Chimombe releases hot single

Davitah Chimombe

By Staff Writer

Upcoming music sensation – Davitah Chimombe – this past week released a hot single titled ‘Moyo Wangu’ which will be on his forthcoming debut album ‘Chakuma’.

Davitah who is James Chimombe’s third-born child said his journey in the music industry has not been easy but he has been blessed to have received valuable music tips and advice from other popular musicians such as Willom Tight, Dino Mudondo, and Phillip Svosve who have been very supportive to him.

“The journey has been long because when people hear that you are James Chimombe’s child, big things are expected from you, so you have to work extra hard to perfect your music because there will be comparisons with your father.

“So it has been my mission to come up with quality music which I believe will enhance my name in the music industry,” he said.

His debut album ‘Chakuma’ will be released this year, and it will feature other musicians such as Willom Davitah refers to Tight as a father figure because he has been walking with him every step in his musical journey.

“I have been blessed to have other musicians who have been very supportive to me such as Willom Tight, Phillip Svosve, and others. Mudhara Willom Tight is like a father to me just like mudhara Svosve because both commit their time to assist me whenever I approach them looking for help with my music. Frankly speaking, both have played a huge role in grooming me to be the musician I am today and I am forever grateful,” he said.

Ever since he burst onto the music scene, Davitah says his mission is to revive his father’s music legacy and follow in his footsteps.

So far he has been staging shows in South Africa where he is based with the likes of Allan Chimbetu, Freddie Gwala, Pamela ‘Gonyeti’ Zulu, and many more.

For now, Davitah says he is working on a video for ‘Moyo wangu’ which will be released in the coming weeks.
